After a month of waiting my new Liverpool football shirt finally arrived today and with it came a free gift that turned out randomly to be a Beatles T Shirt, both from Liverpool though so I see the link. After almost two decades sponsored by the lager brand Carlsberg, I can’t help looking at the shirt as if it is foreign and bearing no resemblance to my beloved reds. The new sponsor’s name and logo, some financial company, do not create an aesthetically pleasing football shirt to say the least. Although football shirts aren’t made to be fashion items as a fan you still want to be able to wear them and walk around thinking you look good. The only thing I can say is if Liverpool play as badly this coming season as this shirt looks then emulating last season’s woeful seventh place finish will be a good year!
