When New Tribes Mission went to Greenland, I went along as well, this being my first mission. My first impression when stepping off the plan was that it was not very green there. Most of the people are Inuit descended, and continue many of the same traditions of ice fishing and sledding. Most of the people lived very poorly, with no means of sustainable agriculture as it very rarely gets warmer than fifteen degrees. The first thing that we did when we got to the village was establish first aid for those that were sick and dying. Many of the people were suffering hypothermia from not having proper attire. Once we established that, we were able to help them with everything else.
