Belly fat is often the result of genetics, diet and lifestyle habits, stress or a combination of these things. Once belly fat develops it is more difficult to treat than other weight problems. Fear not, if you are armed with the right information you will be more successful your quest to become healthier. Eat a balanced diet that is high in lean protein and fruits and vegetables. Get out and exercise. If you are too busy to exercise, there are a lot of ways to include more activity in your life: park a little farther from the store when you shopping or walk to the mail box instead of driving up to it. And last but not least, decrease your stress. When we are subjected to toxic stress, our bodies produce the hormone cortisol, which can increase our appetite and cause an increase in belly fat.
