Chi Running

The supporters or promoters of Chi running suggest that the traditional way of running with the heel hitting the ground first is inefficient and predisposes to injury. They advocate a more of a mid foot strike, so there is no braking action of the heel strike. The New Balance running shoe company has developed a running shoe that is designed for this style of running. Additionally, the Chi running movement also like to use some of the philosophy of Tai Chi and pilates and apply that to the running experience. This is supposed to make the running experience more of a spiritual exercise.
