The economy has been tough for me lately since I lost my job as an executive assistant and had to pick up a lower paying job without enough hours. I also have two kids to take care of. However, I found some Kentucky single parent grants that have helped me a lot. First is the KCHIP program, which gives health insurance to my kids. This is a godsend since I make too much to qualify for Medicare. At least my kids will be secure. The other program is the state’s Food Benefit Program which helps me pay for the food that my kids and I need. Without these programs, I might end up on the street despite having a job.
